So I’m starting a blog and it’s called….
Matchbox Adventures!
No, this is not a Matchbox Twenty fan site. If you know me, the play on words is obvious, but since I’m hoping that more than just my inner circle of friends read this, you might be expecting someone taking pictures of their favorite Matchbox Cars in exotic locations around the world. While this is surely a unique concept, and I was very fond of Matchbox cars growing up (I had quite the collection that my parents probably still have in the garage) that description would be a little off the mark. Let me explain…
My name is Match, yes for real; well actually it’s Matchett but I go by Match; it was my great grandmother’s maiden name. This blog is about my adventures (such as they are). I enjoy photography and take photos of the places I visit. I live in Portland, OR and enjoy taking advantage of all the pacific northwest has to offer. I enjoy travel but don’t get to do it as much as I want to, but when I do, I want a place to talk about it.
I would imagine there are a lot of people out there that don’t get to travel as much as they like but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy travel-like experiences close to home. My hope is that you get some inspiration to get out and experience the place where you live.
I’ll be writing and posting photos mostly about Portland and the surrounding area but also of the places I travel to (when I get to). If you have a suggestion for a place to visit, let me know and maybe I’ll add it to my list.
